Abstract We identify major knowledge gaps in the primary impacts of extreme weather and climate change across UK’s food system, its functioning their interactions to provide information support adaptation resilience planning. Future shocks stresses due changes extremes will have significant on UK system. Key remain our understanding non-cereal crops, livestock fisheries production, chain beyond longer-term impacts, an integrated, full system view that accounts for cumulative interactions, feedbacks interplay between domestic overseas elements These need be urgently addressed ensure future There are several areas where research could better decision-making towards increased both policy business sectors. note a step collection, quality, synthesis application broad range data time space. is develop tools inclusion “missing middle” discussions incorporate impacts: processing/packaging, transport, storage, wholesale, retail disposing/reusing.
